The World of Talmar

In an alternate universe, a single planet was formed. Revolving around a single star, it was the only planet in the system. However, it had many moons in its orbit. Most were small enough to move unnoticed, except two much larger moons. When both were visible, their combined size filled the sky in a perpetual twilight. Even more peculiar, they orbited in opposite directions, but always in unity. It was common for folk to observe their passing - a beautiful sight to behold.

The planet on which my writings are penned, was named Talmar. Most of its surface was covered in water, minus the large band of land wrapping around its equator. That land was vast and filled with an abundance of life. It was home to many races and species of flora and fauna. First formed were three prime races, who were given the task to care for the planet, keeping everything in balance. Many other races were formed during the next several millennia and given freedom to walk its breadth. From Humans to the fantastical races of Dwarves, Halflings and Colossus, this planet brimmed with life.

After the first three thousand years, a rest was given to let the land grow in peace. Great civilizations were formed and the caretakers aided in all that was. After another thousand years creation began anew, and the breath of life was poor out across the face of the world. At that moment it was seized by another, who used its power to form corruption. From this the Fen, Sylkryn and other races were born - their intent to follow their master's foul bidding. The world suffered as their wars ravaged the land - evil continued to spread. Through the unity of the three, they brought balance back to the world, but at a terrible cost.

The world would never be the same again...

Thank you for taking the time to read this brief look into the history of Talmar. This land is filled with adventures, and I plan to write quite a few novels about this fantastical world. If you want to join in see where this world goes, please join my Substack below.

I look forward to seeing you on the next one! ~ L. S. Wylder
